And finally, here's the first color illustration of Max and Pinky together. Pinky looks like a head searching for its body, and Max looks like he's got some serious coffee jitters. But, hey, nobody's perfect.

Max and Pinky early days
Here's another early sketch of ol' Max. He lacked ears and had a pointy nose, but man could he hold a heavy pack. I think Pinky is hiding out inside.
